Here is what Fruitmania 2017 is ALL about.

An all day fruit grower’s garden school for the home gardener
Presented by Terra Bella Garden Center
&
The Lowcountry Fruit Growers Society

Registration will begin at 8 am

Classes will begin at 9 am


Event Schedule:

9am-Welcome and Opening Statements-(Karsten McElfresh/ Owner Terra Bella Garden Center& Darren Sheriff/ Manager TBGC)

Class 1: 9:15am-10:30am-Citrus In The Lowcountry-By The Citrus Guy

Class 2: 10:45am-11:30am- Other Fruits of the Lowcountry-TBA

Class 3: 11:30am- 12noon- Air Layering/Propagation-Darren

LUNCH: 12noon – 1:20 pm Lunch is on your own.

(Many Restaurants within 1-1.5 miles)


Class 4:  1:30pm – 2:15pm- Oddball Fruits- Darren Sheriff

Class 5: 2:30pm - 3:20pm- Growing up in SC/fruits-Anthony Melton

Class 6: 3:30pm - 4:15-Summertime Pest Control- Kathy Woolsey

4:15-?? Closing remarks-Jam/Jelly Results announced

Dismissal




People’s Choice Jam/Jelly Contest rules
Anybody registered for Fruitmania 2017 or participating may enter.
Jam/Jelly must be made with fruit or vegetable, does not have to have been grown by exhibitor.
Crackers and knives will be provided for tasting.
All registrants to Fruitmania GS will be supplied with one vote per category. The Jam/Jelly that receives the most votes will be awarded the People’s Choice for best tasting.
There will be four categories:
Tree Fruits
Brambles
Vegetables
Oddball Fruits/Combinations
The winner of each category will go head to head to determine “Best Overall” and that will be decided by the Terra Bella Garden Center Staff.

Please put name and type of Jam/Jelly on the bottom of the jar.

Other important notes:
Fruiting plants and trees will be 10% off that day.
Static displays of various fruit growing techniques and other related matters will be around.
