December 2017 Meeting

In case you had not heard yet, The Lowcountry Fruit Grower's Society has moved to the 1st Monday of the month, 7 pm at the North Charleston Armory, 5000 Lackawanna Blvd, North Charleston, SC 29405
With that being said, we have a meeting scheduled for this coming Monday, December 4th.

I know we don't usually meet in December, but I figured it is early enough in the month, and we are trying to get the momentum going again.
So, here is my plan for this meeting.
Let's do a pseudo-Christmas party. If you would like to participate in a gift exchange, bring a wrapped "fruit themed" gift, $10 or under. You will get a ticket if you bring a gift and when your number is called, you will select one gift from the pile. Then at the end, everybody will unwrap.

We can then discuss what the items are, i.e. learn about the growing habits, fruit, problems and anything else about what you received. The trick is, what you bring, YOU have to be able to discuss in at least some detail and tell to the recipient. This way you have to do a little homework. Now, granted not everybody will bring living plants, there might be other things, plus with the amount of knowledge that is in this group, you do not have to worry about being the ONLY person with the info on the plant, so your identity will still be a mystery to what you bring, unless you want it known.

I have included a bunch of other entities in this e-mail, so it is going to many people. Pass it around to your friends that might be interested, this could be a great way to get them involved and learn something new.

I would like to discuss the direction that I think we need to take the LFGS and where you guys want to take it.

If you feel real froggy, bring some kind of treat, I will bring plates and napkins, and some drinks. This is not a necessity, but also could be fun.

Let me know if you have any questions or problems. I hope to see everybody that is receiving this there!
